Welcome to Harley
Harley village is a small village situated in the far west of the Rotherham Borough in the county of South Yorkshire, off the Sheffield-Barnsley Road (A6135). Map ref. Sk 3698. It consists of about 200 houses with a population of about 400.
It has a deceptively rural location, near to the more famous village of Wentworth. But is very close to 3 major cities and all modern facilities.

Rotherham is about 10 kilometres (6miles). It is also close to the Sheffield border being about 1½ kilometres (1 mile) from Chapeltown across the M1 motorway. It is also close to Barnsley. Leeds is about 30 mins up the M1.
Access is good with main roads, nearby Rail-links at Elsecar and Chapeltown and regular local bus services. Meadowhall shopping centre is within five minutes drive via the M1 south from junctions J35, J35a, or J36 at Birdwell!
Local facilities include a Post Office and General store, an Anglican Church and a pub - The Horse Shoe. Harley also has its own Sewage Farm and a public telephone box, and cutting edge traffic calming !
