Harley Gala

The Annual village fete venue- sports ground. Next year 2004- date TBA

This year was arguably the best ever! With the first ever Harley Hobble 5k race, display from Majorettes and a very colourful band. Sideshows, excellent home made food and socialising.

Guggenmusig-Treffen ( Barnsley )

Harvest Festival

Held in the Horse Shoe Pub annually. Auction of excellent produce donated by the Allotment Soc. In aid of the elderly and young people of the village.

This year 2003, nearly £1000 was raised. John "the shop" Campbell acted as auctioneer and all round entertainer - hilarious and great fun, John should be on the stage. next one leaves in twenty minutes..

Halloween

This is an unofficial event deeply rooted in pagan/ early Christian tradition, which now has been infiltrated by our colonial cousins from across the pond - "Trick or Treat." Village children dress up and call hoping for goodies.

Fireworks Display

Date -TBA . Time - 18:30pm Venue- Sports Ground

The 2002 event was as usual well attended and very successful, despite the Fireman's strike and problems with insurance! The success was in no small part due to the provision of excellent homemade meat and potato pie (mushy peas optional), organised and supplied by the activities group.

Village Christmas Tree

Usually sighted on the "circle". Usually a visit from Santa for younger children near to the big day.
